Ghassan Ashour, a Middle East affairs analyst, referring to the advance of Yemen government forces in Bab al-Mandab and Dhubaab, and the increase in attacks by the coalition led by Saudi Arabia, said that the geography of the areas of fighting and air superiority of forces backed by Saudi Arabia are among the main factors behind these advances.

He added that even if Sana’a falls, this will not mean an end to the Houthis, because they still have the ability to continue the fighting in mountainous areas and in areas with populations that support them. According to Ashour, neither side has the ability to completely defeat the other.
