Johannes Vadeful, Germany’s foreign minister, said in the political podcast program of Anne Will that the Islamic Republic is the main cause of the current clashes, and that Tehran’s actions have provided the grounds for other countries to respond militarily.

In remarks about the war in Iran, Vadeful said the Islamic Republic is preparing to achieve nuclear weapons and is supporting paramilitary groups in neighboring countries; groups, according to him, that do not recognize the national sovereignty of these countries.

The German foreign minister also emphasized that the behavior of the Islamic Republic is neither harmless nor friendly.

He added that Tehran’s actions give other countries reasons to respond and defend themselves; a response that, according to him, “unfortunately may also be military.”
