🔶 France’s foreign minister says two Iranian diplomats will be expelled in the coming days

France has announced that it will expel two Iranian diplomats from the country in the coming days. It is said that this action is in response to an incident that occurred in July involving French diplomats in Tehran.

At the time, France said that two employees of its embassy in Tehran were detained by Iranian security forces and were threatened and intimidated physically.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, without mentioning the names or positions of these individuals, protested against the behavior of “unusual” French diplomats and announced that the two were expelled from Iran.

Later, it was revealed that the two diplomats were staff of the cultural section of the French embassy in Tehran, who had met with two Iranian graphic designers named Aria Kesayi and Elhae Naqi-lo in connection with a cultural project. The two graphic designers have been in detention since that time.
