Foreign Ministry Statement:
“Statements issued by Arab foreign ministers at the Committee of Arab Ministers meeting, at Jordan’s initiative, are based on baseless allegations, distort historical facts, and completely disregard reality. Accusing Israel of violating freedom of worship while this statement declares the Temple Mount (Al-Haram Al-Sharif) as a place of worship exclusively for Muslims—and ignores the historical connection of the Jewish people to Jerusalem and its holiest sites—is especially ridiculous. Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the State of Israel, has never been as open and accessible today under Israeli rule as it is for followers of all religions to carry out their religious rites. Israel reiterates its commitment to preserving freedom of worship, maintaining the status quo on the Temple Mount, and carrying out all measures necessary to ensure public order and the security of all visitors.”
