Farnahteh Pezeshk, an international relations expert, said that given the current positions of the Islamic Republic and the United States, it is unlikely that the UN General Assembly would become a turning point in relations between the two countries. She added that the Iran file is now placed within the broader competition among global powers, including the United States, China, and Russia, and this has reduced the likelihood of reaching an agreement.

Pezeshk also said that China could put pressure on Tehran, but Beijing’s role is defined above all by its own interests and its ties with the United States, and it will not necessarily be in the interests of the people of Iran or the United States.
