In an interview with the “CNBC” network, Mr. Bessent said companies cannot provide fuel or airport services to Iranian aircraft or sell tickets for them, and warned that otherwise they will be “pushed out of the dollar system.”

The U.S. Treasury Department had previously, as part of its “economic expulsion” operation, sanctioned all aviation companies still operating for the Islamic Republic and warned about providing services to them.

The U.S. Treasury secretary also said Chinese officials have been actively involved in discussions about the campaign of economic pressure against the Islamic Republic. According to him, the United States has had positive negotiations with Chinese financial officials regarding compliance with sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
