The maritime security company Ambrey said a liquefied natural gas carrier with Greek ownership and operated by Greece and flying the Bermuda flag, while docking at the state-owned liquefied natural gas facility of Egypt in the port of Damietta, was targeted by at least one drone and caught fire.

Earlier, Ambrey had said a floating liquefied natural gas storage facility owned by a U.S. company, managed by the United States, and flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, while present in the port of Damietta, was targeted by a drone.

Three sources familiar with the matter told Reuters that the drone struck the liquefied natural gas storage vessel “Energos Winter,” causing a fire; the blaze then spread to the vessel “GASLOG SALM.” So far, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
