🔻Ehsan Hadadi, head of the Athletics Federation, in a conversation with , announced the return of two track and field athletes to Iran and said: «I thank the Minister of Sport for following up, but we judged them very quickly. We issued a ruling. We judged them without a vote and because of the news that was shared on social media.»
🔹Hadadi said: «Our kids have families; they are going to live in this country. Of course they are supposed to get a job somewhere. I hope that when the kids return, they will forgive them. These are kids from the provinces who want to live in their hometowns, and it is difficult. I hope it won’t be repeated again.»
🔹Hadadi said: «Two athletes (one athlete and one coach) are returning, and the other two athletes are to be exchanged after the implementation of the agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and South Korea. One of them, remotely, has been training under the supervision of one of the medalists of the Asian Games in Nagoya.»
🔹This case goes back to the 2025 Asian Championship events in Gumi, where four members of Iran’s delegation were detained on charges of gang rape of a 20-year-old woman.
