Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said in an interview with the Financial Times that two of his representatives, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, will travel to Ukraine for the first time in the coming days.

“In very simple terms, we want the war between Ukraine and Russia to end. I’m not looking for missiles. We’re looking for peace,” Trump said.

Trump also expressed his optimism about finalizing a civilian nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia, conditional on Riyadh normalizing relations with Israel, and praised Andy Burnham, the new prime minister of Britain, for taking a pragmatic approach to oil exploration in the North Sea.
