🔻Donald Trump, the President of the United States, says that Washington’s focus on increasing economic pressure on Iran does not mean ruling out the military option.

He said on Friday, in response to a question about whether the “economic war” approach against Iran indicates that the United States’ military options are limited, “No, not at all.”

Trump added that Washington is assessing developments and “see what happens.” He also emphasized that Iran is facing severe economic and military problems and is unable to pay the salaries of its military and police forces.

The U.S. president again claimed that Washington has full control over the area related to the Strait of Hormuz and said that Iran wants an agreement, but in his view it is still not ready for the “right” agreement.

In recent days, the U.S. administration has, alongside reducing the intensity of military attacks, emphasized the intensification of economic pressure on Iran. Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury secretary, said Washington is seeking to impose the “toughest financial pressures in history” and claimed that these pressures could lead to the collapse of the Iranian government.
