Donald Trump, the President of the United States, on Wednesday night, published a report from the New York Post on comments by Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, who said that the economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran would have nothing for trade “within two weeks.”

A naval blockade of Iran’s ports has prevented the Islamic Republic from exporting oil by sea. The U.S. dollar has also, in recent days, set fresh records amid the stunning fall of the Islamic Republic’s rial.

Mr. Bessent told Fox News that the economy under the blockade of the Islamic Republic will, soon and after the delivery of its last oil shipments, have “nothing to exchange” within about two more weeks.

As written by the New York Post, Bessent assessed in an interview with Fox News that the Islamic Republic, due to the collapse of its economy accelerated by the implementation of “economic displacement operations,” is, out of desperation, strongly eager for an agreement, and he warned that its problems will significantly worsen over the next two weeks.
