The deputy governor of Khuzestan announced that the Chazabeh border, like Shalamcheh, has been closed since early morning today, following the announcement by Iraqi officials. According to the announcement by Valiollah Hayati, no movement of goods or passengers is being carried out from these borders for the time being.

Earlier, Reuters, citing two security sources, wrote that after the latest drone attacks carried out against Saudi Arabia, Iraq issued an order to close the Shalamcheh border crossing between Iraq and Iran as a precautionary measure.

The Chazabeh border is located in Iraq’s Maysan province, and early Saturday morning, Iraq’s Prime Minister’s Office removed its operations commander. This dismissal was carried out after investigations confirmed that the latest drone attacks on Saudi Arabia were carried out from Iraqi territory.
