“Collapse” of Iran’s economy alongside the people’s livelihood crisis; in an interview with Mehdi Qaisi

🔸Senior U.S. officials, from the president to his deputy and the Treasury secretary, have spoken about imposing the harshest economic pressures on Iran. G.D. Vance, Trump’s deputy, has called continued economic pressure a tool to prevent Tehran from rebuilding its nuclear capabilities, and the U.S. Treasury secretary has said that imposing the toughest economic sanctions in history on Iran—and ultimately the collapse of the Islamic Republic—will follow. Trump has also emphasized that any country that offers Iran a way out will face severe consequences. Will the Islamic Republic change its position? To what extent would bringing the Islamic Republic to its knees mean greater misery for the people of Iran? Mehdi Qaisi, founder of the International Economic Studies Institute in Vienna, the capital of Austria, answered these questions for Radio Farda.
