🔸The Speaker of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, in an implicit warning about the economic conditions of Iranian society, said: «No matter how much military power the system has, if the people are hungry and there is no circulation of money, economic growth, or domestic production, we won’t be able to last.»

🔸Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, on Friday, 30 Mordad, in remarks in Iraq to people presented as «Iranian and Iraqi economic activists,» described the new decisions by the U.S. government to impose severe economic sanctions against Iran as «unjust» and said: «We must plan in order to overcome them so that we can prevail over them.»

🔸Qalibaf, who served as the head of Iran’s negotiating team with the United States after the recent war, in his remarks called for using Iran–Iraq’s national currency in trade exchanges between the two countries and said: «You can put an end to the U.S. currency.»

🔸Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, on 29 Mordad said Washington’s plan to intensify economic sanctions on Iran is pursued with the aim of «overthrowing» the Islamic Republic government.

🔸According to him, «This will be the largest coordinated economic isolation in world history.» Details of these sanctions are expected to be announced next Monday.
