📰 CNN report:

The Trump administration has revoked the visa of Brazil’s ambassador to the United States, Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti, in a move that has intensified diplomatic tensions between Washington and Brasilia.

A senior U.S. State Department official said the action is reciprocal, because Brazil has delayed the approval of the proposed U.S. ambassador, Daniel Perez.

There are also other disagreements, including Brazil’s refusal to issue visas for some U.S. officials.

The official stressed that the visa revocation does not mean the expulsion of Brazil’s ambassador.

He added that if Brazil approves the appointment of Daniel Perez, the visa for Brazil’s ambassador will be reissued immediately.
