The CIA estimates that the United States, in its war with Iran, consumed so much from its air-defense stockpile that the Patriot inventory has now fallen to fewer than 1,000 interceptor missiles and THAAD.

The baseline quantities before the war were approximately 2,330 Patriots and 360 THAAD, meaning more than half of each was used.

In addition, more than 1,000 Tomahawks and 1,100 JASSM were fired, along with heavy reductions in SM-3, SM-6, and PrSM missiles.

The reconstitution tables are grim.

Tomahawk, THAAD, and Patriot will need three years or more to return to pre-war levels, with major Patriot purchases in fiscal year 27 not scheduled for delivery until May 2029.

This leaves a multi-year vulnerability window for any conflict in the western Pacific with China.

It also limits transfers to Ukraine and the Gulf allies.
