🔻China expresses serious concern over continued attacks on Riyadh airport in Saudi Arabia

🔻China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday condemned the attacks on the international airport in the city of Riyadh. Mao Ning, spokesperson of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in Beijing to reporters on Monday that the Chinese government has expressed its “serious concern” about the escalation of the conflict.

Attacks on the Riyadh airport continued on Sunday as well. Saudi officials announced that in the Sunday attack by the Houthis on the main international airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, one person was killed and 11 others were injured. This was the third deadly attack on this airport in the past four days. In the Saturday attack, 13 people were killed.

Almost all flights to this airport have been canceled. The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have warned airlines and passengers against using Saudi Arabia’s airspace.

The Houthis also said they targeted the Damman airport in eastern Saudi Arabia and the country’s oil facilities.

A spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition said that the coalition forces intercepted and destroyed several Houthi drones and missiles at various locations across the country.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has also advised American airlines to exercise caution when flying to Saudi Arabia or when transiting through this country’s airspace.
