Channel News reported that the next round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon has been postponed due to continued tensions between the two countries. According to this report, Lebanon is seeking Israel’s withdrawal from additional areas and, until this demand is met, has no intention of holding the next round of negotiations. In response, Israel has also lodged a complaint to the United States about the performance of the Lebanese army and said that these forces operate in coordination with Hezbollah.

At the same time, an Israeli official told CNN that after several rounds of talks that began in April with US mediation, no date has yet been set for the next round of discussions.

The latest round of negotiations took place last week in Rome. At the same time as these talks, Israeli airstrikes on targets in southern Lebanon increased. These strikes took place after an explosion that killed two Israeli soldiers during an operation to clear infrastructure that was likely belonging to Hezbollah.
