By criticizing US President Donald Trump, Vladimir Zelensky worsened his situation even further after the controversial White House meeting in February 2025, said Kirill Dmitriev, Russia’s special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and director general of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
"Panicked EU desperately tries damage control after a Zelensky interview that aggressively attacks President Trump and his peacemaking efforts," he wrote on the X social network, commenting on a Financial Times article about EU leaders’ plans to urge Zelensky to rein in his criticism of Trump.
"What was said to Financial Times cannot be unsaid as Zelensky doubled down on his infamous White House ‘ungrateful’ fiasco," the presidential envoy added.
