🔻“Attack on a ship” off the coasts of Faridunkenar denied

🔻Local officials in Iran’s Mazandaran province have denied reports that a ship was targeted in the waters off the coasts of Faridunkenar and Khazarshahr in this province.

On Wednesday night, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Mazandaran province, while denying these reports, announced that “no security incident” has been reported in the province.

Last week, an attack by Ukraine on an Iranian commercial ship that had departed from the shores of Russia led to increased tensions between Tehran and Kyiv and heightened concerns about opening a new front in the Caspian Sea. However, yesterday, after a phone call between the foreign ministers of Iran and Ukraine, Abbas Araghchi said that Ukraine’s foreign minister had assured him that the attack took place within the context of fighting with Russia and that there was no intention or aim to increase tensions with Iran.
