🔻Association of Pharmacists: The influenza vaccine has not yet entered the distribution network
Fars News Agency, citing the Iran Pharmacists Association, has reported that despite the start of the appropriate season for influenza vaccination, the vaccine has not yet entered the distribution network.
According to this association, on average about three million doses of the influenza vaccine are brought into the country every year, but this year no precise information has been published regarding the number of vaccines imported, their source of supply, or the time of distribution.
The association says that September and the first half of October are the “golden period” for injecting the influenza vaccine, but at present there is also no information about the possible number of imported vaccines.
It is still unclear whether the delay in distributing the influenza vaccine is directly related to currency problems or sanctions. However, officials in the pharmaceutical sector have reported in recent weeks disruptions in currency allocation, issues with transferring funds, and the pressure of sanctions on the import of medicines and medical equipment.
