Gargash said that keeping communication channels open with Iran could help the region move past months of conflict.

He called the recent meeting between Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince and Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi a sign of the importance of the presence of “voices of reason” to restore peace and stability.

Speaking at a gathering of Arab media in Dubai, the UAE official said: “As long as hostilities are not halted, you cannot build the future.”
