Amir Giti, a member of the editorial board of Iran International, said that economic problems, Donald Trump’s tariff policies, and dissatisfaction with the continuation of the war with Iran were among the important factors behind the Republicans’ failure in the U.S. congressional elections. According to him, voters’ exhaustion with foreign wars has also affected the election results.
Giti added that JD Vance, with criticism of the consequences of the war with the Islamic Republic, is trying to separate his position from supporters of the continuation of hostilities and prepare for the 2028 presidential election. He emphasized that Trump’s performance in the remaining two years of his term and the extent to which the promises of the two parties are fulfilled will affect the political future of the United States.
