Ali Davvapi, an economist, criticized officials of the Islamic Republic for portraying runaway dollar price increases and inflation of 80 to 90 percent as normal, saying that the government and the parliament play a role in the formation of this situation through the approval of the budget and the country’s financial policies.

He emphasized that budget deficits, the devaluation of the national currency, and pressure on production and commercial transactions have shifted the costs of the government’s economic policies onto the people.
