Ahmad Nadari, a member of the presidium of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, wrote in a post on X that if we were to pull back from the nuclear capacity with knowledge of the continuation of "threats and assassination," and even the killing of Ali Khamenei, then it was deterrence logic that would have dictated that by building an atomic bomb we could create the final deterrent capability.

Nadari wrote: "The enemy is deterred not by retreat, but by increasing the cost of aggression."

The remarks by the Tehran representative were made while Jafar Qaimpanah, the deputy of Masoud Pezeshkian, had said that if he were in the position and knew that America would kill our leader, he would stop enrichment.
