Agreements to establish Russian bases in Syria may be signed by the end of the year, Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko said.

“In August, an interim memorandum was signed on the transformation of Russian military facilities into joint Russian Syrian training and logistics centers. And now, concrete intergovernmental agreements on these facilities are being prepared, which will finally formalize their future status,” he said. “I hope this will happen by the end of this year.”
