👈 A SpaceX rocket impact created a 18-meter crater on the Moon
NASA images show a crater of roughly 18 meters in diameter on the Moon’s surface, which it is said was formed as a result of the impact of part of a Falcon 9 rocket belonging to SpaceX.
The rocket was launched in January 2025 to send the “Blue Ghost” probe and the “Resilience” station into space, but its second stage was unable to return to Earth due to a lack of fuel.
Ultimately, the rocket’s second stage collided with the Moon’s surface at a speed of about 9,000 kilometers per hour, leaving behind a crater with a diameter of roughly 18 meters. NASA images captured this feature after the impact.
