اصاله نصری، a prominent Syrian singer, performed on stage in Damascus for the first time after more than 15 years away.

Thousands of people attended on Thursday night a concert titled “A Return to Asalah,” held with support from Syria’s Ministry of Culture.

اصاله began the program with the song “Paradise of Syria,” which she released after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government. She supported anti-government protests in 2011 and then stayed away from Syria for years afterward.
