A man whom Britain and the United States consider a financial intermediary for the leader of the Islamic Republic is trying to stop the sale of two luxury apartments in London that have been identified via an intermediary linked to Mojtaba Khamenei.

Ali Akbar Ansari, an Iranian banker living in Dubai, argues that the Office of Financial Sanctions Enforcement of the UK Treasury made a mistake in issuing permission for the sale.

In this regard, the Telegraph wrote that Ali Akbar Ansari, the Iranian banker whom Britain and the United States consider a key financial supplier to Mojtaba Khamenei, has challenged the UK government’s permission for the seizure and sale of his apartment in Kensington.

British and American officials say that his ownership of this property and other properties is on behalf of the leader of the Islamic Republic and other government elites.

The Telegraph wrote that Teneo, the company that manages the property administration in liquidation, has filed a lawsuit in the UK Supreme Court to reject Ansari’s argument.

According to the Telegraph, Britain’s intelligence services are aware of these properties, and Israeli sources did not comment on the possible risk.

The properties are located on the same street as the official residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
