🔻Masoud Pezeshkian, Iran’s president, said that the Islamic Republic of Iran “is not at war” with Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia today, after its country’s vital oil pipeline was targeted as the war spread in the Middle East, shut down its East-West pipeline.

Speaking on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi to the India Today television network, Pezeshkian said: “We are not at war with Saudi Arabia. The Houthis have their own issues. I have said many times that all countries in the region should sit around one table and establish peace and security in the region. There is no logic or reason for us to be at war or in conflict with one another.”

Both Baghdad and Riyadh said that the attack had begun in Iraq, where Iran-backed militias operate.

These attacks followed a lightning operation by Iran-aligned Houthis. The operation put the militia group in a position to seize control of a vital waterway in the Middle East, through which a large part of Saudi Arabia’s oil is exported.
