Reuters reported on Tuesday evening, 17 Shahrivar, citing a U.S. official, that a remotely piloted guided explosive unmanned underwater vehicle (a remotely guided unmanned submarine) of the U.S. Army, while inspecting the waters of the region in support of operations related to Iran’s war, developed a technical malfunction.
The U.S. official added that the unmanned underwater vehicle that experienced the technical fault was an older model and carried no classified sonar or radar equipment.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy had announced on Tuesday evening that it had brought under control “one of the most modern smart and unmanned submarines of the U.S. Army” at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz.
