🔸An American official told Reuters on Tuesday, 17 Shahrivar, that a military U.S. unmanned underwater vessel in the Middle East, while monitoring the waters of the region in support of the war against Iran, experienced a technical malfunction.
🔸The remarks were published hours after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the “capture” and “seizure” of an American underwater vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
🔸The American official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the faulty vessel was of an “older model” and carried no classified sonar or radar equipment.
🔸He added that the vessel had suffered the technical problem more than a day earlier, but did not refer to its fate or to the control of Iranian military forces over it.
🔸In a statement by the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, it was claimed that “one of the most modern intelligent and unmanned submarines” of the U.S. Army was trapped in the early hours of Tuesday.
🔸Earlier, reports had been published about the U.S. Army conducting mine-clearing operations in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz using equipment such as unmanned underwater vessels.
