🔸IRGC called the US troop withdrawal from Iraq a “Resistance Axis achievement”
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Thursday, 9 Mehr (October 1), in a statement described the departure of American forces from Iraq as a “historical victory” and claimed that the development is a “harbinger of the expulsion” of the United States from across West Asia.
In the statement, the IRGC said the US exit was the result of the “steadfastness” of the Iraqi people and the activities of groups known as the “Resistance Axis,” calling it “the first step in avenging” the killed Iraqis, especially Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the former deputy of the Popular Mobilization Forces.
The statement said: «The revenge for the blood of these dear people will be completed with the full expulsion of America from the region.» The IRGC also said: «America must leave the region and hand over security management to the people themselves.»
The position was announced after the end of the US military presence in Iraq. The withdrawal of US forces was carried out based on an agreement between Baghdad and Washington, and the mission of the US-led international coalition in Iraq has officially ended. However, the Iraqi government has said that security and intelligence cooperation with the United States and other members of the coalition will continue.
