🔸Hamid Tizrooyan, a wildlife photographer and senior specialist in animal biology, captured an image of the magnificence of a maral near a brown bear in Kiasar National Park in the Hyrcanian forests.
🔸#Maral, which is also known as the Iranian red deer, is considered the largest native deer species in the country. The animal mainly lives in the Hyrcanian forests of northern Iran, but pressures such as the destruction of parts of its natural habitats and illegal hunting have reduced its population in some areas.
🔸Iran’s #Hyrcanian forest, with an age of 40 million years, is considered one of the world’s most valuable forests, and in Tir 1398 it was registered as Iran’s second natural heritage on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
