🔶 Daily increase in currency prices continues; the dollar reaches over 235,000 toman
The daily increase in currency prices in the Tehran market continued on Thursday, 19 Shahrivar (10 September), and the price of the dollar reached 235,700 toman. The euro also rose by 7,350 toman over 24 hours to 271,640 toman, and the prices of the dirham, pound, lira, franc, yuan, and yen likewise increased.
The continued jump in the exchange rate is a sign of worsening instability in the market and a further decline in the value of the national currency; a situation that increases the cost of imported goods and intensifies the economic pressure on citizens.
The continued decline in the value of the national currency indicates that Iran’s economic situation has deteriorated further. Economic experts warn that the continued fall in the value of the rial could flare up protests in the market again.
