🔶 Iran’s state TV reported a foreign ship running aground in the Strait of Hormuz Iran’s state TV said on Wednesday, July 1 (10 Tir), that a foreign container ship ran aground in the Strait of Hormuz because it did not follow the route approved by Tehran. According to the report, the vessel suffered this incident due to navigation in shallow waters along the route it had chosen and was unable to continue moving. In its report, Iranian state TV also emphasized that shipping companies are required to follow the guidelines of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, and warned that transiting routes other than the “Route of Authority” could lead to “irreversible incidents.” The event happened at exactly the same time as the presence of Steve Witkoff, the U.S. envoy to the Middle East, and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law, in Doha. These U.S. officials, along with negotiators from the Islamic Republic of Iran, are in Qatar to hold talks with mediators.
