🔸The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that on Tuesday, September 17, U.S. military forces “destroyed” five oil tankers carrying Iranian crude oil, following two ballistic missile attacks by the IRGC against a U.S. Navy ship in the past two days.
🔸In a CENTCOM statement, it said the American ship successfully evaded the Iranian missile attacks and continued patrolling in the waters of the region, and none of the U.S. forces were harmed in these attacks.
🔸According to CENTCOM, although the aforementioned Iranian attacks were unsuccessful, the United States, in a successful operation, targeted the MT Kavoos, MT Charminar, MT Horizon 1, and MT Risko oil tankers in the Sea of Oman, as well as the MT Darya near Kharg Island.
🔸According to the U.S. Army, before the attack on these vessels, their crews were instructed to leave the ships, and then these tankers were targeted and disabled.
🔸The U.S. Central Command Headquarters also published a video of the destruction of the Risko oil tanker, one of the five tankers of the Islamic Republic, which it destroyed hours earlier, in the early hours of September 18, Tehran time.
