🔸Iran, in response to the US Army’s attacks on its oil tankers, carried out a new wave of missile attacks against a US military base in Jordan on the 17th of Shahrivar, an action that has greatly increased tensions around the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman.

🔸The US Army said it destroyed five oil tankers carrying Iranian crude oil. According to the US Central Command, these tankers were linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

🔸The attacks came after Iran’s attempt to target a US warship was unsuccessful.

🔸In response, Iran targeted positions on Jordanian soil with missile attacks and said the aim of the operation was a US military base.

🔸Jordanian officials said the country’s air defenses intercepted 18 Iranian ballistic missiles. Based on published reports, these attacks caused no casualties.

🔸The escalation of clashes in the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman has also affected the global energy market, pushing oil prices to more than $100 per barrel.
