⚡ Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesman said meetings and the exchange of messages between the United States and the Islamic Republic are continuing, and Doha’s efforts are focused on building common ground between the two sides.

Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, adviser to the prime minister and the official spokesman of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at the ministry’s weekly press conference: “The meetings are continuing and we are within the framework of conveying messages between the American and Iranian sides.”

He said Qatar’s mediation is ongoing and that “there is no substitute for a peaceful solution to this crisis.”

Al Ansari added: “There are obstacles in the way of any agreement, and our role is to overcome the difficulties and bring the positions of the parties closer, and that is exactly what is happening right now.”

He declined to comment on the details of the negotiations process and did not say whether Doha has received Washington’s response to Tehran’s latest proposals.
