🔻The “club” of nuclear-armed states has only 9 members: the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, China, France, India, Pakistan, Israel, and North Korea. Among these countries, the only one that has never officially confirmed possessing these weapons is Israel.

The United States was the first country to obtain nuclear weapons. These weapons were developed during World War II as part of a secret program known as the “Manhattan Project.”

80 years ago, in the days of August 6 and 9, 1945, the United States used these weapons and, with devastating consequences, dropped two atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

This country was part of the Axis powers; an alliance consisting of Nazi Germany, Italy, and Japan, which stood against the Allied powers in World War II. It is estimated that these explosions killed at least 200,000 people. This event remains the only instance of the use of nuclear weapons in a military conflict.
