Mr. Trump, at an election rally for Michael Vettley, the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, in the city of Gastonia, said:

«I hope we’re getting close to the end of the war. They want to reach a deal. We’ll see how this goes.»

Donald Trump has repeatedly emphasized that Iran is seeking a deal; however, negotiations between the United States and Iran in recent months have not led to a lasting agreement, and the two countries have repeatedly carried out military actions against each other’s positions.
