🔻Tavanir announced the discovery of 300,000 illegal cryptocurrency miners in Iran this year

Mohammadollah Davar, managing director of Tavanir, said that around 300,000 illegal miners had been discovered in the past six months, adding that, by stealing about 1,500 megawatts of electricity from the national grid, they were consuming electricity “twice the amount produced by the Bushehr nuclear power plant.”

Mr. Davar said that “each miner device consumes electricity equivalent to 12 homes” and told electricity utility rs that if illegal miners are identified, they can receive a reward.
