🔶Clashes for several hours in Zahedan; the IRGC says six armed individuals were killed
Local sources in Sistan and Baluchestan reported the occurrence of a severe armed clash between Islamic Republic security forces and armed individuals in the Manzelabad area of Zahedan on Thursday morning, 9 Mehr (October 1).
According to Halvush, the clash began at about 6 a.m. and continued for several hours. The source said it was reported that there were sounds of heavy gunfire and an RPG being fired in the area. The identities of the armed individuals have not yet been determined.
In this regard, the Quds Force Headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Ground Forces also, by issuing a statement, announced that six people from the armed individuals in the clash were killed. The IRGC described them as members of a “takfiri terrorist” group and said these individuals intended to carry out an operation in the area.
The IRGC did not announce the name of the group or the identities of the dead individuals; however, it said that several explosive packages were also discovered during the operation. The IRGC statement did not mention any possible casualties among government forces.
