Passenger tells his story from the flydubai cockpit attack

Passengers on a flydubai flight arrived safely in Israel on Wednesday after passengers and crew intervened to stop a co-pilot from allegedly trying to crash the aircraft, Israeli officials said.

The co-pilot stabbed the pilot before the plane plunged nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds, according to the report.

Passengers and crew overpowered the co-pilot, allowing two other flydubai pilots aboard the flight to land in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

Passenger Almog Italie said the aircraft was “dropping very, very sharply” before passengers noticed a crowd gathering near the cockpit.

More than 10 hours later, passengers arrived at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport on a replacement aircraft. A paramedic said one passenger was taken to hospital with a chest injury.
