🔶Emergency meeting of the UN Security Council at Bahrain’s request following Iran’s attack on the country Fifteen member states of the UN Security Council on Thursday, 11 Tir (according to New York time), held an emergency session to examine escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf region after Iran’s attacks in recent days on Bahrain and Kuwait. At the meeting, Bahrain’s foreign minister, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, said that from February 28 until now, this country has been the target of 808 attacks, including 203 ballistic missiles and 605 armed drones. He said: “These attacks have deliberately targeted non-civilian facilities, critical infrastructure, and residential areas, which has resulted in three civilians killed and 465 others injured.” Al Zayani added that the existing evidence refutes Iran’s claim that these attacks have targeted only military objectives. He pointed to the April 5 attack in which an Iranian drone struck an ammonia storage tank in a densely populated area.
