Mohammad Hassan Qadiri Abiyaneh, the former ambassador of the Islamic Republic in Australia, told the IranWatch site that the United States has prepared itself for a ground attack on Iran and that this attack may be carried out before the U.S. congressional elections and even in the coming days.

Qadiri Abiyaneh said the aim of this attack would be to occupy parts of Iran’s territory, including islands, coasts, and some border areas. He added that the United States needs such an action in order to achieve a military victory before the congressional elections, but that this attack “will face defeat.”

Qadiri Abiyaneh called the agreement with Washington a “delusion letter” and said those who think that it is possible to reach an agreement with the United States through negotiations still remain deluded.
