🔶 Israel destroyed a Hezbollah underground base in southern Lebanon

Israel said on Thursday, September 10 (Shahrivar 19), that it had destroyed a network of tunnels and Hezbollah Lebanon’s underground infrastructure in the strategic heights of Ali Al-Taher in the south of this country, and had taken operational control of the area both above ground and underground.

According to the Israeli army, this underground network "extended for more than two kilometers, and within these underground infrastructures, dozens of rockets, Iranian-made missiles and drones, dozens of anti-tank missiles, machine guns, and hundreds of mines and explosive materials" were discovered.

The Israeli army said that "a central command center of Hezbollah’s Badr unit was also located in this complex, including operations rooms, weapons depots, and places where forces were stationed, and this strategic infrastructure, which was built over two decades, was financed and designed by the terrorist regime in Iran".

The Ali Al-Taher heights, near Nabatieh, in southern Lebanon and about 15 kilometers from the Israeli border, are important militarily due to their strategic location and their vantage over the Nabatieh area and the communication routes in southern Lebanon.

In a joint statement by Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, and Israel Katz, the defense minister of this country, it was also mentioned that Iran financed the construction of this infrastructure, and that the destruction of these infrastructures "completes operational control over the Ali Al-Taher heights, both on the ground and underground."

Netanyahu, last night, published a video of the destruction operation of these tunnels on the X social network and wrote: "Tonight, we destroyed the largest overseas base of Iran—the Ali Al-Taher tunnels in Lebanon."
