🔶 Axios: The Trump administration is working on a strategic plan for the Middle East
Axios, a news website, reported on Friday, September 4 (Shahrivar 13), citing two U.S. officials and two sources familiar with the matter, that the Trump administration is drafting a strategic plan for the post–U.S. war with Iran period. The goal of the plan is to contain the Islamic Republic and expand the normalization of relations between Israel and other Middle Eastern countries.
As Axios wrote, citing the two officials and a source, although the drafting of the plan is still at an early stage, its aim is to set the direction of U.S. policy toward the Middle East after the end of the war with Iran and during the final two years of Donald Trump’s presidential term.
According to the news site, the development of this guiding plan has been overshadowed by the October 27 election in Israel, as well as the U.S. midterm elections in November.
Axios’ report states that in recent weeks, Trump held two meetings with his senior advisers, at which this plan was discussed and ideas were raised.
