🔶 News agencies: Iran’s war has sparked the escalation of Yemen’s internal war

German and French news agencies say that the war in Iran has caused the internal war in Yemen to flare up again.

According to these reports, alongside the continuation of the war in Iran, fierce clashes have broken out between forces of the internationally supported Yemeni government and the Houthi militias supported by the Islamic Republic.

Witnesses say that armed clashes have taken place in the western governorates of Taiz and al-Hudaydah.

According to statements by local officials, as a result of these clashes, hundreds of people have fled the affected areas, and families have moved to safer areas to protect their lives. Among them were also people who had previously been living in refugee camps.

Yemen’s official state news agency (SABA), citing the army, reported that around 50 Houthi militiamen were killed or injured in the fighting. Several others were also taken prisoner. However, no precise details have been released about the number of deaths and injuries, nor about casualties among government forces.
