Xie Feng, China's ambassador to the United States, wrote on his X page on Wednesday, 25 Shahrivar.
According to Xie Feng, Wang Yi, China’s foreign minister, said in a meeting with Abbas Araqchi, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, in Beijing, that Tehran and Washington should exercise restraint and that both sides should return as soon as possible to the understanding reached in Islamabad.
As written by Xie Feng, Wang Yi said the Islamic Republic and the United States should, based on the agreements reached, re-establish the negotiation mechanism and hold serious discussions on the issues of concern to both sides.
The Chinese foreign minister also called on all parties to take effective steps to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as quickly as possible and to ensure the security and continued access of international waterways.
He added that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is necessary to maintain stability in the international transfer of energy and in the production and supply chains.
The Chinese foreign minister also said that China will continue its efforts to establish peace and stability in the Middle East, advance peace talks, and support justice.
